I have some big decisions to make over the next month or so, or perhaps I should say it will likely be better if I make them in the next month or so.

I have been procrastinating. Thinking things through a little bit here, and then thinking things through a little bit there and, whilst obviously its’s all helped, it’s not resolved anything. My focus has been on delivering for others.

Today I have been hit by back to school lurgy number two. I find these things hit quite rapidly when a kid sneezes directly in to your open eyes. I am far from at my best.

I’ve just eaten two home made mini apple pies, sat down with another coffee and decided that whilst it is a day where I am very unlikely to raise my butt from the chair (my head spins a bit when I do) that I should dust off my, ‘good old’ project management skills and actually commit to defining what I want to achieve from this change. Really honing down on what I do and don’t want, what I’m willing for it to cost (financially and personally) and what risks I’m really willing to take. With honesty.

Aren’t we all better at identifying the key points when it’s for someone else, but not being quite so focused for ourselves? Or is that just me?

Treating myself as my own client has helped. It feels like an arctic wind has blown through my head. Short term, longer term. I am clearer.

It might be the belly full of home made apple pies, but I’m feeling a little more clarity and that has me (a little more) energised. I needed the more professional reminder that every once in a while, like anyone, I need to prioritise a ‘proper’ review of what I want to achieve.

If you’re a little unsure at the moment, I highly recommend it.
