Something I have to do over the coming weeks is familiarise myself with manifestation. It’s not an area I know much about and it’s not something I’ve ever consciously done.

My quick internet research (I know, not exactly investigative journalism efforts so far) has me thinking that there are elements I already practice as part of every day life, but there are definitely elements I shy away from, perhaps actively avoid. Which was a bit of an eye opener and rather telling in itself.

One challenge I have, is to write about my dream day in the past tense. To approach it as if I had lived it already. Putting words down to describe what occurred and how and why it made me happy. Considering what about it, and why it, made me feel grateful.

It has proved a far bigger challenge than I expected. Not in thinking of things I would love to do, I’m overflowing with ideas for those, but in considering the practicality in my current set up. Considering all the things I would have to do in order to achieve it, made the trouble seem entirely not worth it for one day.

Yes, there was the blinding realisation.

Which gave me a rather hefty kick up the bum for 2019.

I know there are two camps:

1) there is no need to force change on yourself or set yourself impossible goals because of some date in the calendar, because we weave our way and we grow and shift every moment;

2) new year is a good reminder to review, reflect and react.

I have previously been a 1. This year, I think I need to be a 2. Hopefully next year I can go back to being a 1.

Wishing you all a beautiful New Year.
